I wrote down the serial numbers, it appears the prefix c means 22-38 while the prefix d indicates a 28-46. I went around the day before and counted 41 McCormick-Deering threshers. We went to the Harvesting Hope in Austin Manitoba, started the threshing with 147 units running. Now here is one more thing that may throw a wrench into the cylinder.this is a Canadian book and the numbers may be Canadian and not American. If others can chime in on this, perhaps we can find out more. ![]() It is my impression right now that the suffix number is actually a reference to the size of the machine. The listed numbers seem to suggest that an ever increasing number was used, our 22 inch thresher is serial number C19785 K. One will likely have to study part numbers on the units that have the same prefix to determine which year they fit.and it may not always work. There are no other notes, I assume that the listed numbers beside the year are units he had been supplying some parts for and that was the year they fit.
